Come and get Negative Painting Advice with us at 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Austin TX see map location below

Watercolorist, Sue Kemp will motivate you to think both NEGATIVE & POSITIVE to create interest and depth in your paintings.

I have zoomed in to show parts of two of the paintings with examples of negative space. During this oneday class, I will demonstrate using repeated simple shapes. After lunch I will demonstrate, then you may work from your own photos, drawings or paintings you have already begun, or work from my subject matter. All levels are welcome, although some experience in watercolor is preferred. I’ll send a list of basic supplies to participants.

Bring your watercolor supplies and join us for a fun, creative day!

Cheryle will be joining us again from Waco and sharing her techniques for painting children in watercolor. You may paint from her reference or bring a photograph.

Watercolor, as her primary medium, lends itself to capitalizing on its transparent qualities, allowing color to mix optically on the paper rather than mixing color on the palette. Cheryle has been passionately teaching watercolor classes for adults since 2000 and is a frequent presenter for watercolor and fine art groups.

Ms. Chapline has been published in three Splash publications, most recently in Splash 23, jurored by Mary Whyte.

Her painting of Nick will be included in the Louisiana Watercolor Society’s International Show in

New Orleans. May ’23

Here at the Waterloo Watercolor Group, we love watercolor! To spread that love, Waterloo Watercolor Group is sponsoring another series of One-Day Workshops in 2022. These skill-building Workshops are designed to help watercolor artists be the best they can be, to have the most fun they can have and to celebrate our mutual love of watercolor painting. Class size will be limited to 12, so register and pay ASAP.

Cost: $60 for members and $75 for non-members. Workshops include demonstrations and individual guidance.
