Stephen Zhang 3 Day Workshop

How about a 180 degree turn? Stephen Zheng, our next workshop leader teaches art at the University of North Texas. He describes painting this way: I embrace the contradictions inherent in the medium, such as complexity and simplicity, control and letting go, and the permanent and the temporary. When I paint, I start with something that moves me and then allow the piece to find its own path, where I follow it through a process of unexpected discovery, non-linear evolution, and impromptu happenings.

Zhang’s artwork has received widespread recognition nationally and internationally. It is featured in numerous prestigious exhibitions and publications such as the Signature American Watermedia International Exhibition, Watercolor USA, American Illustration, Chinese National Art Exhibition, American Art Collector, and International Artist. Private collectors and corporations have sought Zhang’s artwork, and his paintings have been exhibited at the U.S. Embassy in Equatorial Guinea.
